Estill Voice Training
Expert Estill coaching to help singers, speakers, and teachers unlock their full vocal potential
The Estill Voice Model
The Estill Voice Model was created by Josephine Antoinette Vadala Estill (1921–2010) after a lifetime of singing, teaching, and researching. It began with the simplest question: “How am I doing this?”

Her search for answers led her to collaborate with world-class researchers in medicine, voice, and speech science, exploring sound with the curiosity of both an artist and scientist.

Fascinated by the diversity of voices across cultures, Jo listened, observed, and experimented — which led to guiding principles and a set of practical exercises called Figures. These tools work for everyday speaking, elite performance, and even rehabilitating injured voices.

What Estill Voice Training Offers.

Estill Voice Training (EVT) gives you precise control over the anatomical structures of your voice. Through simple, targeted vocal exercises, you gain the freedom to explore a wide range of sounds, expand your artistry, and build lasting confidence. EVT turns science into practice, helping you maximise control whether speaking, singing, or caring for your vocal health.

Every voice is unique. We all have the same vocal “parts,” but our culture, upbringing, and experiences shape how we use them. No two singers or speakers are alike — which is why Estill Training is designed to meet your individual strengths, challenges, and vocal goals.
